Klein Gallery in Boston, Bau-Xi Gallery in Canada, Messums Gallery in UK, and
ARTITLEDcontemporary in Europe. He lives in Woodstock New York.

Aircraft

Milstein’s first acclaimed photographic series was Aircraft the Jet as Art. A
typological series of perfectly framed shots of aircraft just before landing.
The work was published by Abrams as AirCraft the Jet as Art, in 2005.
Two printings sold out and it is now a collectible. The work was featured in museum shows in Denmark and Scottland, as well as solo shows at the Ulrich Museum of Art in Kansas, and a year-long solo show at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. The work has received numerous awards and been published and collected worldwide.
In 2022 some of the photographs will become part of a permanent exhibit on display in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, on the mall.

Cruise Ships

The second series was cruise ships photographed in perfect symmetry from a
helicopter. This award-winning work has been widely published and is featured in
the still traveling FEP show CIVILIZATION: the Way We Live Now. The cruise ship
series was followed up by a small leisure boat typology

Cuba

In addition to the aircraft and aerial work, Milstein has traveled to Cuba 6 times
beginning in 2004, and his Cuba photography was published in 2010 as CUBA,
Jffrey Milstein, Monicelli press. The work was featured on CNN.

Cities

Beginning in 2012, (before drones were flying) Milstein began photographing cities,
including airports, public places, amusement parks, and container ports, from small
planes and helicopters. In 2014, the New York Times published his airports in the
story “What the Birds See”. Influenced by his architectural background, he shot
much of his aerial work in a straight-down style of shooting. This is a style he
became known for, and his innovative work was acknowledged with four pages in
the 2019 book FROM ABOVE: The Story of Aerial Photography, a beautiful book of
photographs documenting important moments in the history of aerial photography
from the first aerial photograph taken from a balloon to the present day

In 2007 Thames and Hudson published his aerial photographs of Los Angeles and
New York in the book LA NY. The aerials have won numerous awards including
Graphis Gold Awards, Communication Arts Awards, and have been published and
exhibited world-wide, including a feature on the CBS Evening news with Scott Pelly.

CIVILIZATION: The Way We Live Now

In 2017 a large photographic show, CIVILIZATION: The Way We Live Now, featuring
a select group of photographers from around the world, curated by FEP under the
direction of William Ewing and Holly Roussell, opened at the Soul Museum of
Modern Art. The show which features Milstein’s photographs, also features his
photograph of Newark International Airport on the cover of the catalog. The show
has been traveling the world, and will be in Italy this fall

Paris From the Air

In 2019, Milstein received a very rarely given permission to photograph directly over
Paris and Versailles from a helicopter. The work was published by Rizzoli April 2021,
as Paris From the Air. The work and book (now in its third printing), have won many
awards. A solo show of the Paris work was shown at Benrubi Gallery in 2021.
